Assoc. Prof.Kalin V. Naydenov, PhD– Principal Geologist
Kalin is an associate professor at the department of Geotectonics and Regional Geology at the Geological Institute, Bulg. Acad. Sc. He is a cofounder of Murgana Geological Consulting Ltd. He is a structural geologist (PhD from Sofia University) with over 20 years research and exploration experience. He has worked in the Variscan and Alpine belts of SE Europe (Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo), Eastern Alps (Austria) the Pan-African Orogen in Southern Africa (Namibia, Botswana, Angola, Zambia), Central African Republic, Arabian-Nubian Shield (Egypt and Saudi Arabia), East Kazakhstan. He has research and exploration fieldwork experience in almost all type of climates and terranes – from the temperate forests of Southeast and Central Europe, the jungles of Central Africa and the savannas of the Southern Africa, to the rocky deserts of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Namibia and even to the snow and ice world of Antarctica.
Kalin is strongly field oriented geologist and his main fields of expertise are in conventional and exploration mapping, structural analysis, structural studies on mineralised systems, regional geology. He has experience in metamorphic petrography and petrology, GIS-solutions, interpretation of remote sensing data and isotope geochronology.
